Terry Michael Ferek
Terry Michael Ferek, age 62, of Carmichaels, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Ruby Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. after a long illness.
Mr. Ferek was born September 13, 1956 in Waynesburg, Pa., the son of the late Stanley W. and Blanche Anne Wozniak Ferek.
Mr. Ferek was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania in accounting and went on to earn an MBA at Waynesburg University.
He began his career working for U.S. Steel Corp. at Filbert Shop, Fayette Co. and later at Dilworth Mine, Rices Landing. For a time, he worked in marketing for the Kroger Corp. Mr. Ferek retired as a professor of accounting at Waynesburg University.
He was a former member of St. Hugh Church, and with his Dad and brothers, sang in the church choir.
Terry played trumpet in the band, Stush and the Boys, with his Dad and brothers for years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool.
He was wheelchair bound for years, but his spirit never diminished.
Mr. Ferek is survived by his son, Damian Ferek (Rachael) of Morgantown, W.Va.; a brother, Ronald T. Ferek (Brenda) of Carmichaels; a sister, Linda Ferek Tasser (Donald), of Belle Vernon; sister-in-law, Dena Ferek; a cousin, Jeannette Podlogar; nieces and nephews, Brian, Krsyta, Donnie, P.J., Sami Jo, Jessica, Alex, Georgi, Niko, Aubree, Stush, Cassie, and Allie; and his beloved caregivers, Mike, Janet, Amy, and Jeremy.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Stush, is deceased.
He had three English Bulldogs who kept him entertained.
Family and friends will be received in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Ave., Carmichaels, Pa., 15320, 724-966-5100 on Saturday, January 19 from 6 to 8 p.m., on Sunday from 2 to 8p.m., and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:05 a.m. with Reverend H.O. Kelley, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greene County Humane Society.
