Individual TSA, Air Traffic Controllers FBI agents and so many others can not risk losing their job by staying home during the federal government shutdown. Other federal employees just want to get back to work just to survive.
Fellow Americans can assist them. Shut down the country instead of the government.
Ever worker that can should stay home on a coordinated day and date and continue doing so until elected officials do their job. Truck drivers alone parking their trucks until the government pays its workers and opens would force a move once store shelves are empty.
The closest expression to relate (sorry, I do not know whom to credit), “It’s a recession when your neighbor is out of work but a depression when you are out of work.” Unfortunately more people (including you and me) need to feel the pain before there is any change in DC.
