Emily L. Goudy Palmer

Emily L. Goudy Palmer, 72, of Akron, formerly of Washington, died Thursday, January 17, 2019.

She was born June 5, 1946 in Washington, a daughter of the late Sidney and Bertha Goudy.

She was a graduate of Trinity High School. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was raised and baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and was very strong in the Lord. Her favorite saying was “I am a child of the most-high God.”

She married Richard L. Palmer, Sr., who is deceased.

She loved spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are a son, Richard L. (Willa) Palmer, Jr.; three brothers, Andrew J. Goudy and Charles E. Goudy, Sr., both of Washington, and Timothy A. Goudy of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Sydney L. (Tom) Wormsley, Anna M. Goudy, and Alberta L. (June) Allen, all of Washington; two grandsons, Tyler and Marquele Higgins, both of Akron, Ohio; two granddaughters, Cleapatra and Savanna Taylor, both of Akron, Ohio; two special nieces, Taylor E. Allen of Washington and Terri L. (Paul) Goudy Clark of Portsmouth, Va.; along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Deceased is a sister, Naomi Jean Lockett.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, the hour of services, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Reverend Richard White officiating Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
