Frank R. Zimmerman, age 79, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 in West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born March 24, 1939 in Jefferson Township, Greene County, a son of the late Frank L. and Erma Chambers Zimmerman

Frank graduated from Waynesburg Central High School and also studied at William and Mary.

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg.

He enjoyed woodworking and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid reader.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Stilwell Zimmerman, whom he married on June 10, 1967; one daughter, Shelly Braden (Robert) of Crafton; a sister, Barbara Hayes (Mike) of Estacada, Ore.; and a brother, Joseph Zimmerman (Lois) of Rockwood.

Deceased are his sisters, Bertha Horyak, Ella Smith, and Gloria Melocich; his infant brothers, Charles and David, and infant sister, Linda.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m, the hour of services, on Sunday, January 20, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, with private burial in Smith Cemetery at a later date.
