Ronald L. Keller

Ronald L. Keller, 84, of Washington, died Friday, January 18, 2019, in his residence.

He was born April 30, 1934, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Jane Weir Keller.

Mr. Keller was a 1952 graduate of Stowe-Rox High School, where he excelled as a pitcher on the baseball team. He was drafted after graduation by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, where he threw several no-hitters.

He went on to work at Washington Steel for 32 years, until his retirement in 1996.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pirates and Steelers.

Mr. Keller was a member of Pulaski Club in Washington.

On August 8, 1959, he married Margaret Hurzon, who survives.

Also surviving are son Jeffrey S. (Lori A.) Keller and daughter Tracy L. Durbin, both of Washington; brother Thomas Keller of McKees Rocks; two grandchildren, Brandon Durbin and Brianna (Jared) Cameron; two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Neil Freeze; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Bentley Cameron.

Friends will be received Monday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 22. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum. All other services will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to Concordia of Washington Hospital, Donnell House, at www.concordialm/home-community-services/donnell-house.
