Liquor law violation: Lone Pine Beer Store, at 1748 Amity Ridge Road, was cited by the state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for selling alcohol to a minor. According to a report from the bureau’s Pittsburgh office, on Oct. 1 the store sold alcohol to someone younger than 21.
CANTON
Drug charges: Jordan Thomas Allen, 23, of 1250 Sycamore St., Washington, was charged by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department with possession with intent to manufacture, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Dunkin Donuts Tuesday afternoon. Police said they stopped Allen’s car because they could smell marijuana coming from it while driving behind it. Police said they found two quarter-pound bags of marijuana in the car, along with a digital scale and sandwich bags.

Two crashes: Two crashes early Tuesday on Interstate 79 north near the off-ramp of the Houston exit backed up rush-hour traffic. The first crash occurred at 7 a.m. on the off-ramp when a vehicle driven by Victoria Culbertson, 23, of Claysville, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Lynne Barshick, 52, of Washington, state police said. There were no injuries. As traffic slowed, a vehicle driven by Michael Lavengood, 49, of Morgantown, W.Va., hit the rear of a stopped vehicle driven by Bonnie Weaver, 62, of Waynesburg, which hit a vehicle driven by William Lamb, 34, of Monongahela. Weaver was taken to Canonsburg Hospital with minor injuries.
CLAYSVILLE
Driver identified: State police have identified the driver of a water tanker that overturned early Monday at Wayne and Main streets as Edward Popielarcheck, 37, of Coal Center. He was driving south on Wayne (Route 231) shortly after 5 a.m. when the truck’s brakes might have malfunctioned and it overturned and slid into a parked pickup truck. He was treated for minor injuries.
MONESSEN
Drug case: Lamont Jackson, 59, of 320 Short St., Monessen, is charged by city police with tampering with evidence, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop about 5 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Locust Avenue, court records show. Police accuse him of hiding small amounts of crack in his shoes and a police cruiser after being taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. A senior district judge issued the new charges Tuesday in a summons.
SOMERSET
Crash: Francisco Vasquez Godinez, 31, of 51 Rear Murray Ave., Uniontown, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash and three summary traffic violations following a crash Nov. 30 on Interstate 70 eastbound. Police said Godinez crashed the vehicle into a guardrail about 11:26 p.m. before getting out of the car and fleeing.
SOUTH STRABANE
Retail theft charges: Kenneth Michael Clarke, 26, and Carlo Daugherty Jr., 32, both of McKees Rocks, were charged by South Strabane Township police with felony retail theft after they allegedly were caught stealing more than $300 in merchandise from Kohl’s on Route 19. They both have multiple prior convictions of retail theft, police said.
