One person was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital by helicopter following a single-vehicle crash on Route 40 in North Bethlehem Township on Thursday morning.

A Washington County 911 supervisor said the person was trapped in their vehicle following the wreck just outside Scenery Hill, near the intersection with Buckingham Road. They had to be freed before they were taken to a landing zone on Moon Bridge, just down the road.

The incident was reported at 10:50 a.m. The supervisor said the vehicle had rolled over and become airborne.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
