Lois H. Shoup, 90, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living, Washington.

She was born June 25, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of the late Allen M. and Gladys B. Munks Herron.

Mrs. Shoup was a 1946 graduate of Trinity High School. She went on to work for the J.C. Penney catalogue department for over 18 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a member of the Church of the Covenant, Washington, and volunteered at Washington Hospital for many years.

On January 28, 1948, she married Arleigh L. Shoup. Mr. Shoup died March 10, 2002.

Surviving are two sons, William L. (Diane) Shoup of McMurray and John R. (Ann Marie) Shoup of Washington; two daughters, Louise S. (Leonard) Pugliese of Johnstown and Nancy S. (Edward) Gerlach of Berwick; a brother, Paul A. Herron of Upper St. Clair; a sister, Joan M. Roberts of Johnstown; 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Meghan) Pugliese, Emily Shoup, Sarah (Cole) Moody, Beth (Anthony) Sacerino, Danielle and Kimberly Gerlach, Tiffany (Brian) Reed and Brandon Shoup, Christine Upton, Susan (Thomas) Gavazzi and Kathleen (John) Rambo; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a granddaughter, Rachel Pugliese.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at noon Tuesday, February 5, with the Rev. Dr. Stuart Broberg officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. (Memorial contributions, if any).
