Aggravated assault charge: George Paul Locy, 28, of 205 Neely School Road, was charged by state police with aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and harassment after a domestic disturbance at his residence Sunday evening. Police said that about 7 p.m., Locy allegedly cornered a woman in the bathroom, grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground. He then allegedly dragged her by the throat to the bedroom and threw her on the floor. Police said he shoved her to the floor multiple times and screamed and yelled at the woman. He then allegedly smashed a frying pan against the kitchen counter and table, telling the woman she was lucky it wasn’t her head, the criminal complaint said.
CANONSBURG
Drug charges: Tabitha Raven Perry, 25, of 1213 Wilna St., Washington, was charged by Canonsburg police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop Oct. 29 at the Seven Hills convenience store at 368 Euclid Ave. Police said they found two Adderall pills, two trazodone pills, a stamp bag of suspected heroin and two cut straws. Perry allegedly told police the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to her.
SOUTH STRABANE
Theft charges: Two Washington women were charged by township police with theft, receiving stolen property and retail theft after they allegedly worked together to steal merchandise from Target and Kohl’s and fraudulently return the items for money Saturday afternoon. Police said Nicole Lynn Populo, 33, and Kelly Rae Coleman, 34, both of 84 W. Wheeling St., stole about $236 worth of merchandise.
Retail theft: Melissa Lou Chappell, 44, of 647 W. Wylie Ave., was charged by township police with retail theft after she allegedly stole nearly $300 worth of merchandise from Giant Eagle on Jan. 28. Police said she has a prior retail theft conviction.
