Two face dozens of drug charges in Smith Township
Two people are facing dozens of drug charges following a traffic stop in Smith Township earlier this month.
Smith Township police said Lawrence Joseph Stevens, 23, of 901 Pine Ridge Drive, Oakdale, and his passenger, Sidonia Durbin, 18, of 510 Park Ave., Langeloth, were driving Feb. 4 on Route 18 near Bank Drive when police stopped Stevens for traffic violations.
Police said they immediately smelled marijuana in the vehicle. Durbin allegedly admitted to having a bag of marijuana in her purse and two in her pockets, while Stevens allegedly admitted to having two bags of marijuana under his seat.
According to the criminal complaint, police found six bags of marijuana in the car, along with 24 smaller baggies of it, a Mason jar and prescription bottle filled with marijuana, digital scales, a grinder, a smoking pipe and THC oil.
Durbin and Stevens were each charged with possession with intent to deliver, 14 counts of possession of a controlled substance and 36 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Durbin was additionally charged with disorderly conduct, while Stevens was additionally charged with eight summary traffic violations.
