Wife charged in large marijuana seizure in Donegal Township
A Donegal Township woman is facing drug charges in a case involving the seizure of more than eight pounds of marijuana from her husband this week.
District Judge Ethan Ward issued state police charges Friday against Lara Diane Kohn, 37, following the Tuesday search of her 21 Fifth St. home that produced the marijuana, some of which was within reach of her two young children, court records allege.
The raid led to the arrest of Jason Thomas Kohn, 37, who is free on $15,000 bond set by District Judge Traci L. McDonald Kemp.
Washington County Judge Valerie Costanza signed the warrant for the search, which also produced five firearms, $17,000 and drug packaging and distributing materials, police stated in the affidavit.
Lara Kohn was working at the time of the raid. She told police the following day that she lived in the residence, where photographs of her were found.
“The entire house smelled of processed marijuana and smoking devices were observed in the residence unsecured as well,” a trooper noted in court records.
Two unloaded weapons were in the couple’s bedroom, one of which was on a waist-level shelf. Police said they also found unsecured ammunition in the bedroom.
Like her husband, Lara Kohn is charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, marijuana possession, endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also is charged with conspiracy.
District Judge Ethan Ward issued the charges Friday in a summons.
