Christopher Bence, the new Pennsylvania wildlife conservation officer in Greene County, gave a program on eastern coyote at the March meeting of Town & Country Garden Club. The coyote population has been increasing in Greene County during the last few years. Total body length of an eastern coyote range from 48 to 60 inches. Their food habits range from small mice and voles to deer, with various kinds of fruit and plant material. Bence brought a coyote pelt for the group to examine. Generally, coyotes are similar in color to a German shepherd. Bence is pictured with club member Norma Kline, who is wearing the coyote pelt he brought to show the club.
