Win a chance to be a philanthropist
Now through June 16, the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is presenting members of the community with the opportunity to become a philanthropist via the “Hearts of Gold” contest on its Heart of Giving Charity Storybook website (http://storybook.wccf.net).
During the contest window, registered readers of the Foundation’s Charity Storybook website are invited to award a golden heart to all of their favorite charity impact stories on the site. Reader registration is fast and easy. Only a name and verified email address are required.
If chosen as a “Hearts of Gold” philanthropist, that winner may only award a grant to a charity that he or she “hearted” during the contest window. In order to participate in the contest, qualified 501©(3) charities were required to be registered on the Storybook website and submit an impact story by the end of April.
The contest will end at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 16. At the close of the contest, the WCCF will use a computer program to determine three “Hearts of Gold” philanthropists (contest winners).
• The first player selected will have the opportunity to designate one grant of $1,000.
• The second player selected will have the opportunity to designate one grant of $1,000.
• The third player selected will have the opportunity to designate grants totaling $3,000. Grants must be awarded in increments of $1,000.
After being contacted by email, the winners will have 48 hours to respond to the WCCF. If a winner does not respond by the 48-hour deadline, a new winner will be selected.
The contest winners and the charities designated for Acorn Fund grants will be announced on the Storybook website later this month.
