Student volunteer of year
Megan Joos, a recent graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, was recently honored as the M. Kathleen Ramsey Student Volunteer of the Year at the United Way of Washington County’s annual awards event. Joos will attend the University of Alabama in the fall majoring in pre-medicine. She completed more than 650 hours of service hours for a variety of organizations including Relay for Life, Mount Lebanon Surgical Center, local churches, schools and the library. Joos was nominated for this award by Karen Rubican, school counselor.
