John Sramac just completed his junior season of lacrosse. That’s bad news for opponents but positive news for the Mt. Lebanon program. “John’s a heck of a player and he steps up at the right times,” said Blue Devil coach Mike Ermer. “So him being a junior is the best part because we leaned on him to do a lot of things.” The Blue Devils mainly rely on Sramac to score and he has responded with more than 100 career goals. In fact, that milestone goal enabled Lebo to come from behind and beat North Allegheny, 10-8, and advance to the WPIAL Class AAA championship game. Though the Blue Devils lost to Pine-Richland, 12-5, in that match at Robert Morris University, they used a hat trick and two assists from Sramac to edge Palmyra, 10-9, in the first round of the PIAA tournament. Lebo lost to Radnor, 13-4, in the state quarterfinals and finished the season at 14-8 overall. Sramac was voted the team’s offensive MVP. He also garnered all-section and All-WPIAL first-team honors. He capped his season with first-team all-star recognition by the Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association.
