Caitlin Brooks, daughter of Carl and Valerie Brooks of Waynesburg, graduated May 5 from Waynesburg University with a bacherlor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science. A 2015 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School, she was a member of the Waynesburg U. track and field team, and a member of the Kappa Mu Epsilon and the National Mathematics Honor Society. She graduated summa cum laude and was valedictorian of her class. A granddaughter of Mary and Terry Hendershot of Fairview, W.Va., she is employed by First Federal Savings and Loan.
Katherine N. “Katie” Penvose of New Bern, N.C., graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and was awarded the A. Gwendolyn Drew Award for superior academics and a significant contribution to varsity athletics. Katie is the daughter of Robert and Annmarie Penvose. She is a granddaughter of Robert and Beverly Penvose of Houston, Suzanne Liebel of Erie and the late Nancy Penvose and William Liebel.
