CHARLEROI – A Donora man is wanted on charges he broke a woman’s jaw while demanding the return of his food stamps card, court records allege.

District Judge Larry Hopkins last week signed a warrant in the case for the arrest of Curtis Anthony Arnold, 49, on charges including aggravated assault, court documents indicate.

Police also accused Fabrae Lynette Crews-Stevens, 31, of Charleroi, with luring the alleged victim to 730 Lookout Ave. about 4:40 p.m. June 23, just prior to the assault.

Billie Jo Ashbaugh later identified Arnold as the man who struck her in the head several times, knocking her to the floor while demanding the return of his welfare benefits card, police stated in the affidavit. Ashbaugh was treated for her injuries at Mon Valley Hospital, police said.

Ashbaugh also said Arnold told Crews-Stevens to stay by the door and prohibit the alleged victim from leaving or calling for the police.

Arnold, of 111 McKean Ave, is wanted by Charleroi Regional police on charges that also include making terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.

Crews-Stevens, of 414 Washington Ave., is facing charges of unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment and conspiracy. She also is wanted on a warrant signed by Hopkins.
