At 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18, Fort Burd Presbyterian Church, 200 Thornton Road, Brownsville, will host a speaker from Domestic Violence Services of Southwestn Pennsylvania who will address the organization’s mission to increase awareness of domestic violence and its effect on the community. A special musical presentation will be provided by Alabaster Performing Arts, featuring Mary McCormack of Greensburg and Ricardo Reed of Brownsville.

Knights of Columbus Council 3440 will hold its 2019 Reverse Raffle Dinner and Drawing fundraiser on Saturday, August 10, from 7 until 10 p.m. at the Slovan VFW. This is the council’s primary fundraising event, dating back nearly 30 years, that allows the Home Association to operate and fuels charitable initiatives that include, but are not limited to, supporting seminarians. A $100 donation provides participants with a Reverse Raffle Ticket that will enable them to take part in the drawing and to enjoy the sumptuous dinner prepared by the Marcucci family.
