The Prime Time group of Waynesburg Nazarene Church will hold a bake/food sale beginning at 8 a.m. Friday on the steps of the Greene County Courthouse. There will be sandwiches, cookies, pies, pepperoni rolls, cabbage and noodles and more.
Country music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the New Freeport fire hall. Bands scheduled to appear are Brad Crow and the Cutups and the Mon Valley Pickers. Cost is $3, and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.
Cornerstone Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. May 14 at the Log Courthouse on Greene Street. Speaker will be James “Fuzzy” Randolph, who will sing and talk about Stephen Collins Foster. He will be accompanied by Ferd Dolfi of Waynesburg University. The public is welcome.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will conduct an open house and display to inform the public of proposed Washington County bridge projects. The purpose of this meeting is to present the proposed plans for the various bridge improvement projects. PennDOT representatives, along with design consultants, will be available to answer questions. Projects include two bridges over Chartiers Creek in South Strabane Township,·two bridges over Ten Mile Creek in Amwell Township, a bridge over Buffalo Creek in Buffalo Township and two bridges over Ten Mile Creek in South Franklin Township. The meeting will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a presentation at 6:15 p.m., at South Franklin Township Municipal Building, 100 Municipal Road. For information, call Gary V.
