Melda McDonald, 88, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, September 28, 2019, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born September 12, 1931, in Lancaster, Ohio, a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Iva Pearl Gilkey Cave.

A graduate of Hickory High School, she was Presbyterian by faith.

Mrs. McDonald was the owner of Melda’s Nutrition Center.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, puzzles and dominoes.

On March 7, 1952, she married Walter Clair McDonald, who died April 16, 1996.

Surviving are a son, Larry Eugene McDonald of Canonsburg; three daughters, Joyce Ann (Robert) Fink of Canonsburg, Karen Lynn (the late Bo) O’Hare of Canonsburg and Sandra Kay (John) Summers of Washington; six grandchildren, Tonya, Glenn, Allen, Eric, MJ and John; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylan, Taylor, Lucas, Landon, Zoe, Seth, Aiden and Kolton; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two grandsons, Jeff and Jeremy; three sisters, Ruth Cave Kramer, Doris Cave Barney and Genevieve Babiarz; and two brothers, Richard and Theodore Cave.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 4. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
