Antoinette Roman
Antoinette “Toni” Roman, 89, of Monessen, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord Thursday, June 3, 2021, in Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana.
She was born October 18, 1931, in Paganica, Italy, a daughter of the late Angelo and Elvira Moro DeCesaris.
Toni was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 776, and Catholic Business and Professional Women.
She was a kind and loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Her family was her pride and joy. She made everyone feel welcome when they visited her, and also made sure they were well fed, especially with her homemade sauce, meatballs, spaghetti, pasta seashells, and baked goods. She loved to keep her Italian heritage alive with her holiday traditions and ways. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Michael Roman; and by a brother John De Cesaris.
She is survived by a son, Michael G. (Donna) Roman of Third Lake, Ill.; daughter Elvira “Vera” (Greg) Leonard of Indiana; five grandchildren, Keith, Kyle and Kurtis Roman, Benjamin and Rachel Leonard; two great-grandchildren, William Roman and Lucy Pronio; and by one niece and three nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 7, in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held Tuesday, June 8, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, with Fr. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
