Mary Pleska
Mary Pleska, 90, of Avella, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, in, Ann’s Country Retreat, Wellsburg, W.Va.
She was born June 3, 1931, in Avella, a daughter of the late Nicholas “Michael” and Anna Koroly Pleska.
Mary was a 1949 graduate of Avella High School and worked in the Phys. Lab at Jessop Steel Co. for 39 years, retiring February 28, 1994.
She was a member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Steubenville, Ohio.
Mary lived on the family farm her entire life. She was a genuine farmer, raising beef cattle and baling the hay fields.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Dumont of Elyria, Ohio, and Irene O’Shanka of Florence; three brothers, Alex Pleska of Grafton, Ohio, Peter (Jean) Pleska of Avella and Charles (Frances) Pleska of Avella; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a sister, Ann Ryan; four brothers, John, Michael, George and Nick Pleska; and an infant sister, Mary Pleska.
All funeral arrangements are private. Burial will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
