Presto man pleads guilty to tax evasion

Donald J. DeBlasio of Presto pleaded guilty to federal income tax evasion charges Monday, U.S. Attorney David Hickton announced.
The criminal investigation unit of the Internal Revenue Service had found that DeBlasio, owner of DeBlasio’s Restaurant on Cochran Road in Pittsburgh, had evaded more than $341,129 in taxes by skimming cash from restaurant sales between 2007 and 2009.
U.S. District Judge David Cercone scheduled a Dec. 3 court date for DeBlasio’s sentencing. DeBlasio was released on bond and faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
