John Mark Connors, 69, of East Washington, died in his home, July 4, 2021. He died as a result of a head injury he suffered during a fall in his home.

He was born September 29, 1951, in Washington, a son of the late John R. Connors and Helen Boord Connors.

Mr. Connors was a graduate of Schuyler Preparatory School in Schuylerville, N.Y.

After graduation, Mr. Connors returned home to live with his parents in Glen Rock, N.J. He commuted to New York City where he first worked in the city’s diamond district, then later worked for many years at the accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand, also in the city.

Mr. Connors returned to Washington with his parents when they retired to East Washington. Mr. Connors was elected to the position of constable of East Washington, a position that he still held at the time of his death. He greatly enjoyed the job, especially when he was present at the polling places during the primary and general elections. He was often in attendance at the borough council meetings.

Mr. Connors had a lifelong interest in American history, especially early American history. He served as a docent for a while at the historical David Bradford house on Main Street here in town.

He enjoyed target shooting, especially shooting his Brown Bess muzzle loader, a replica of a Revolutionary War musket. He was also a model train enthusiast.

Mr. Connors is survived by a brother William B. Connors of Corvallis, Ore.; a niece, Erin Connors Hart of Medford, Mass.; and several cousins.

Deceased is a sister, Kathleen Connors Hart.

After the death of his mother, cousins Rick and Melinda Baker of Amity were especially helpful and generous to him.

A memorial service in First Baptist Church will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington.
