NORTH FRANKLIN

Assault alleged: Willie H. Cannon, 60, of 2867 Wilson St., North Franklin Township is charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment by state police. According to police, Cannon assaulted a woman at about 5:40 p.m. Thursday at a residence on Wilson Street. He allegedly struck her with a baseball bat, according to police. District Judge Jesse Pettit sent Cannon to Washington County jail on $75,000 bond.
