James R. Baird
James R. “Jim” Baird, 74, of McMurray, died Saturday, November 6, 2021. He was born August 31, 1947, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James and Frances Dombrowski Baird.
Jim graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He spent his entire working career in media and journalism and retired as a newspaper editor.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Eve (Danny) Tuten; two sons, James (Beth) Baird, III., and Jeffrey Baird; two grandchildren, Parker James Baird and Lilianne Eva Tuten; a sister, Carol (Tony) Maggio; a brother, Richard (Sonya) Baird; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Carol Prevade Baird.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, November 12, in St. Louise de Marillac Church. Entombment will be in Woodruff Memorial Park.
