Andrew Donald Dindak
Andrew Donald Dindak, 86, of Houston, died Friday, November 26, 2021.
He was born April 1, 1935, in Homestead, a son of John and Elizabeth Kocsmaros Dindak.
Mr. Dindak was a member of St. Oscar Romaro Parish, and attended the Miraculous Medal worship site.
Andrew served in the U.S Army from 1955 to 1957.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years at Sears, in home improvement sales, then later worked as a self-employed businessman in the cemetery monument business in Homestead and as the owner of the former Video Zone in Washington. He was a member of the Bears Club, played in a poker club, enjoyed bowling, golfing and gambling, but mostly, he was a talented handyman and enjoyed working on projects on his home.
On October 17, 1958, he married Rosemary Mrazik Dindak, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Phillip (Laura) Dindak of Allen, Texas, James (Michele) Dindak of Mt. Lebanon, and Mark (Maureen) Dindak of Imperial; daughters, Maria (Jay) Dindak-White of Washington, Debra (Mark) Coen of Canonsburg, and Andrea Dindak of Houston; brothers, John Dindak of West Homestead, Michael Dindak of Mays Landing, N.J., and Donald (Eileen) Dindak of McKeesport; 13 grandchildren, David (Maya), Rebekah (Chris), Anna (Riley), John, Nathaniel (Briana), Abigail, Alyssa (Levi), Josiah, Mark (Holly), Lauren (Alan), Brittany (Wayne), Edward and Samantha; seven great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Roman, Dexter, Jax, Willow, Marek and Emery; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, in the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
