Margie “Marie” Fitch, 88, of Monongahela, died Saturday, October 30, 2021, in Grandview Estates, Elizabeth.
She was born March 29, 1933 in Lebanon, Tennessee, the daughter of Joseph and Annie McPeak Graham.
Marie was a 1952 graduate of Kittrell High School in Readyville, Tennessee, where she was involved in various class plays. For a few years, she was a telephone operator for Southern Bell in Tennessee.
She was a former member of the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, and the Jr. Get Together Club, both in Eighty-Four.
She was employed for eight years as a receptionist in the law offices of Bloom, Bloom, Rosenberg & Bloom of Washington.
Currently, Marie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Monongahela, where she held various callings and served in Primary, and the Young Women’s and Relief Society. She enjoyed performing with the “Sweet Adelines” ladies four part harmony group, where she traveled, sang, wore pretty costumes and entertained. She thought that was such a lovely thing to do.
Marie loved her family, loved to read scriptures, enjoyed walking and sure loved Monongahela and the lovely people that lived here.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Fitch of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; son, James Wesley Fitch, III. and wife Lori of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandson, James Wesley Fitch, IV.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Fitch, Jr. who died May 30, 2000; her daughter, Margie Fitch who died June 13, 1979; four sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, with the Bishop Roy Hoffman and Scott Frederick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
