Geraldine A. Patnesky
Geraldine “Gerry” Ann Patnesky, 78, has gone on to join all the glorious angels in heaven on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
Gerry is survived by her loving husband, Edward “Ed” J. Patnesky Jr.; and two devoted sons, Michael Patnesky (Tracie) of Raleigh, N.C., and Todd Patnesky (Debra) of Colorado Springs, Colo. Gerry’s legacy lives on in her four grandchildren, Alexandra and Garrett Patnesky of Raleigh, and Matthew and Grace Patnesky of Colorado Springs; as well as her beloved niece, Kimberly Mottiqua (Joe) of Pittsburgh.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Lena Zorzi Mondin; and her sister, Emily Kenneth.
Also left to cherish her memory are a multitude of friends, coworkers and fellow business owners in the Franklin, Va. area and beyond. For 30 years, Gerry owned Alphabet Soup, a unique gift shop in downtown Franklin, where she served her customers not only with retail items, but with care, friendship, and a sincere interest in their lives. She was a mentor, advisor, supporter and a genuine woman of worth.
Gerry was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church on Clay Street in Franklin, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22. She will then be interred at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, near her beloved city of Pittsburgh. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gerry’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
