Belva Jean Seward Lauda, 86, of Washington, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born March 28, 1926, in Houston, a daughter of the late U. Grant Seward and Della McMenemy Seward.
Mrs. Lauda grew up in Houston. She was a graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and attended Penn Commercial College.
She was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church, where she volunteered and was very active and had attended First Christian Church in Washington. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution and was a volunteer for Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls.
Mrs. Lauda worked in the clerical department of Prudential Insurance Co. and was a homemaker.
On June 25, 1957, she married Dr. Bill G. Lauda, who passed away May 17, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy S. McGill and husband James (Jeb) of East Washington and Kathi J. Felton and husband James of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren, J. Patrick McGill and Megan McGill, Andrew Felton, Jacob Felton, Joseph Felton and Rebecca Felton; a brother, Robert G. Seward and wife Frances of Meadow Lands; a nephew, Robert Seward Jr.; a niece, Cheryl Morrell; a sister-in-law, Jane Willhoft of East Washington; and a nephew, Frank Willhoft.
Deceased are a sister, Betty J. Tunno, and two nephews, Terry Seward and Richard Willhoft.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, with the Rev. Stephen Smythers officiating.
