The Bradford House Museum in Washington has been selected to participate in the Museum Assessment Program (MAP), which is administered by the American Alliance of Museums.
The assessment will examine the museum’s operations and look for areas of improvement. It will be carried out through a self-study assessment and a site visit from a peer reviewer. Funding is being provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
“During the last five years, we have grown tremendously as a result of a strong volunteer board of directors, a solid strategic plan and expansion,” said Tracie Liberatore, the museum’s executive director. “The MAP program is the right next professional step for us as we work toward accreditation.”
Since its creation in 1981, the MAP program has served over 5,000 museums. The Bradford House Museum is at 175 S. Main St., in Washington. More information is available at www.Bradfordhouse.org or bradfordhouse@verizon.net.
