Benjamin Franklin Howard “Benny”, 78, of Carmichaels, died Thursday, May 12, 2022 in his home.

Benjamin was born on September 27, 1943, the son of the late Mack McKinley Howard and Bertha Estella Blaker. He was born at home and died at home in Carmichaels.

He is survived by five children, Timmy Howard, of Carmichaels, Robert L. Howard (Kristi), of Garards Fort, Diane Salisbury (Steve), of Dilliner, Barbara Howard, of Fredericktown, Joseph M. Howard, of Carmichaels; a grandson that he raised, Benjamin Joseph Howard; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Benny is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Helen Jane Shekerko Howard; a daughter, Debbie Ann Howard, a son, Benjamin F. Howard II; brothers, John Albert Howard and Carl Howard; and a half sister, Jesse Porterfield.

Benny worked as a Steel Burner for Rohanna Iron & Metal. He enjoyed fishing in the Shenandoah River and deer hunting.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 18, 2022, in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa 15320. 724-966-5100. The service will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
