Larry Sutton, 75, of Carmichaels, passed away at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, after a lengthy illness. He was born December 21, 1946, in Homestead, a son of the late Clifton and Betty Galloway Sutton.
Larry served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He served as chaplain and member of the honor guard for Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491.
Larry worked as a policeman for the Winter Haven, Fla. Police Department, as a corrections officer for the Bartow Jail in Bartow, Fla., and also as a deputy sheriff for the Polk County Florida Sheriff’s Department. His longest career was working as a car salesman in Florida. Larry resided in Carmichaels for the past 12 years.
On May 11, 1984, he married Barbara E. DeCooman, who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, William Watson (Jodi) of Belle Vernon; stepgranddaughter, Rachel Watson; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a stepdaughter, Tammy Barkey; and his stepfather, Rudy Rehak.
There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are entrusted to the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post 400, 205 E. George Street, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
