Lions of District 14-M recently collected 869 pounds of food at the recent Lions District Convention.

The food was subsequently donated to Food Helpers for distribution to the organization’s many food pantries.

District 14-M encompasses 4 counties in southwestern Pennsylvania: Washington, Greene, Fayette, Somerset and includes 46 Lions Clubs, Lioness, and Leos.

The project fits in with the Lions Club International motto of “We Serve.”

Food Helpers is Washington County’s leader for helping those who are fighting against hunger. For more than 37 years, the non-profit organization has provided programs distributing supplement food and nutritional information/education to food insecure residents of Washington County.

The organization relies heavily on its many generous donors. Especially needed are monetary donations to help fuel delivery trucks. Donations may be mailed to Food Helpers, 909 National Pike West, Brownsville PA 15417.
