Nancy Louise Wasnik
Nancy Louise Wasnik, 82, of Muse, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her family, following an extended illness. She was born June 25, 1939, in Muse, a daughter of the late Charles and Nancy Capp Strogish.
Nancy lived most of her life in Muse, where she was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of the Widows & Widower’s Group and the Grace Baptist Church in Canonsburg.
Nancy enjoyed dancing, walking, exercising, reading her Bible, going to yard sales and taking care of her family. She especially loved dancing, polkas being her favorite. She and her late sister, Martha Sekura, were known locally as the M&N Girls.
On March 26, 1959, she married Chester Wasnik Jr., who passed away October 14, 1992.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Lori A. (Larry) Kobertz Jr. of Tionesta, Teri L. Maple, who spent the last several years giving loving care to her mother at home, Bryon Wasnik of Muse, and Amanda Serrino of Lawrence; sisters, Katherine (Leonard) Eisenbarth, Helen (Leonard) Churilla, Irene (Donald) Andree and Rose (Michael) Whitco; and several beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Chester Aaron Wasnik; four brothers, John, Michael, William and Nicholas Strogish; and three sisters, Mary Panchura, Anne McDonough and Martha Sekura.
Her family wishes to thank OSPTA Hospice for its loving care of Nancy.
There will be no public visitation or services. Private family time will be at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 724-745-8120. Inurnment will take place in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Wasnik’s name, may be made to OSPTA Hospice, 4325 SR 51N, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
