James Melvin Moore

James Melvin Moore, 80, of Bulger, Robinson Township, went home to be with his Lord, peacefully, Monday, May 30, 2022, in St. Clair Hospital.

James was born August 22, 1941, in Smith Township, a son of the late William “Melvin” and Eleanor Marie Beaumont Moore.

Mr. Moore was a graduate of West Allegheny High School, Class of 1959. He was also a devout member of the McDonald United Methodist Church for the past 30 years. James was a kind and hardworking man. He always made sure to care for others, often volunteering at the McDonald Food Pantry.

After working for 10 plus hours as a laborer for BMI, James would come home to work on his dairy farm. He loved to farm and spent numerous hours on his tractors. He loved all his farm toys and he always looked forward to getting on or working on the tractor at the end of the day.

James was the epitome of fun. He loved skiing, sled riding, jumping on the trampoline, family beach vacations, going on bike rides and he had a stupendous love for ice cream. With all of these qualities, you can imagine what a fun dad and grandfather James was. His family loved spending time with him because it was always an adventure with James.

Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Johanna Zalaznik Moore, his beautiful bride of 55 years; children, Jim (Carla) Moore of North Carolina, and Jodi (Phil) Salvo of Ohio; grandchildren, Kelly and David Moore, Matthew and Jeremy Salvo; siblings, Harry (Carol) Moore, Dean (Peggy) Moore and Donna (Rich) Hennen.

Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his younger brothers, Thomas and Leonard Moore.

Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, in the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, phone (724-926-2800). Another viewing will be held from 10 until the 11 a.m. hour of service Friday, June 3, in the McDonald United Methodist Church, 232 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057. A service will be held at the church following the viewing at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Candor Cemetery, Bulger.
