Richard L. Jancart
Richard L. Jancart, 87, of Mt. Union, formerly of Burgettstown, passed away on Monday, November 14th, at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, in Altoona.
He was born on May 27, 1935, in Cherry Valley, a son of the late Desire and Laura Guio Jancart. He was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Yaksic, on Sept. 16, 1961, in Burgettstown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lori (Todd) Eanes, Greensboro, N.C., Jill (Jon) Clark, Mt. Union, and Susan (Dean) Bottino, Newton Mass.; six grandchildren, Nick (Kelsey) Prough, Rick Prough, Danielle (Isaac) Spencer, Ryan Eanes, Pearl Bottino and Truman Bottino.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is also survived by a brother, Joseph; and two sisters, Laura Konecheck King and Kathy Pierce.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Dolores DeSantis and Stella Jenkins.
Richard graduated from Union High School, class of 1953, Burgettstown.
He served honorably in the United States Army, 1958-1960, and was stationed in Korea.
He worked for 40 years at the former Weirton Steel Company, Weirton, W.Va., as a boiler repairman and union steward in the Steelworks department.
He enjoyed the outdoors and his English setters, and was an avid Grouse hunter. His other hobbies included gardening, landscaping and refinishing furniture.
A private service under the direction of Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, was held on November 19th. Interment, with Military Honors, followed in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
