Shirley J. Schultz went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 23, 2022. Shirley was best known as Oma, and not only to her own children and grandchildren, but so many of her children and grandchildren’s friends called her Oma. It was the role she was most proud of in life.

Born March 6, 1935, a daughter of the late Roy and Geraldine Zimmerman.

Shirley was married for 68 years to the love of her life, the late Douglas F. Schultz, Sr. who passed December 22, 2020. She is survived by her children Douglas Jr. (Michelle), Pamela (Charles) Nagy, Stephen (Melissa) and Karl (Tracey). She was preceded in death by her youngest son Keith. In addition to her children, Shirley was the proud Oma to 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother Edward.

Shirley worked at Washington Hospital for 25 years and she retired in style with her children picking her up in a limo to whisk her away to begin the next chapter in retirement.

Shirley was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church. She loved to travel and spent many years traveling across America with her husband, the most memorable trips being Alaska and Wyoming. Her favorite vacation was to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a family tradition she shared with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for over 50 years.
