International and multidisciplinary artist Hiroaki Umeda brings his interactive and immersive installations to Wood Street Galleries, welcoming viewers to move through his digital reality.

“Mold 1 Installation” is Umeda’s experiment of choreographing a digital object. The approach is not far from what he does in theater as a digital version of his dance performances. In the video piece, the physics simulation program is used to realize the organic fluid movement, as with the body.

Umeda is a choreographer and a multidisciplinary artist recognized as one of the leading figures of the Japanese avant-garde art scene.

The “Mold 1 Installation” exhibition by Umeda is running now through March 19 at Wood Street Galleries, 601 Wood St, Pittsburgh.

The hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 pm. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Strobe effects and other intense lighting and sound will be used during this exhibition. This exhibition might not be safe for those with light or sound sensitivities.
