Clarence Clifford Davis, of Washington County died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Premiere Health Center.

Clarence was born in Center Township, Greene County, on March 30, 1938. The son of Clarence F. and Ella Ethyl Fordyce Davis.

Clarence attended schools in Greene County, graduating from West Greene High School in 1957.

After graduation, he joined the US Air Force Reserve, in Chicago, Ill. He worked for United Airlines, for 34 years, at various locations across the country. During his tenure at United Airlines, he served in the IAMAW in a national leadership role.

In May of 1963 he married Mary Terese Anchor of Chicago, Ill. They had three children: Terese Steinbach (John), Stephanie Valent (James) and Patrick Davis. Grandfather to: Alyssandra Steinbach, Christopher Davis, Colin Steinbach, Elizabeth Valent, Emil Valent, Theodore Davis, and Victoria Valent. Surviving sister: Celia Joyce Reynolds (John). Predeceased sisters: Junia Lee Campbell (Allison), and Gloria Jean Hughes (James).

Clarence married Patricia Roman from Carnegie, in 1993.

Clarence was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved attending county fairs and tractor pulls. After retirement he enjoyed fulltime RVing throughout the Southwest. When not traveling in the Southwest, he enjoyed trips to the beaches of the Southeast to comb the beaches for shells, to go sailing with friends who lived there, or time with his family in other states. He was a giver of himself to his family and friends. A true champion of the underdog. He had the ability to quickly turn a stranger met while camping or shelling into fond friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 17th as follows: A viewing will take place at Leo Henney Funeral Home in Carnegie from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carnegie at 11 a.m.

Flowers can be ordered from Puhlmans Flower Shop in Carnegie, or to be sent to the funeral home directly.

In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
