Washington County 4-H Scholarship winners
T hirty scholarships were presented through the 2013 Washington County 4-H Scholarship Saturday at the Washington County Fair’s 4-H and FFA Livestock Sale. The awards are given annually to deserving 4-H’ers and FFA members who are furthering their education. To be eligible, members must complete one year of higher learning. Financial support is provided by Washington County Fair 4-H and FFA livestock buyers and West Alexander Fair 4-H and livestock buyers. Donations also are received from 4-H alumni and friends. Scholarships worth $2,000 each were presented to:
Rachel Adams of Avella, who is studying dental hygiene at West Liberty University. Her parents are Ken and Kathy Adams.
Emily Allan of McDonald, who is majoring in soil science at West Virginia University. Her parents are Gregory and Sharon Allan.
Alex Baker of McDonald, who is majoring in mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His parents are Mark and Cynthia Baker.
Alexa Caldwell of Washington, who is majoring in nursing at Community College of Allegheny County, Allegheny campus. Her parents are Larry and Lori Caldwell.
Samuel Carroll of Washington, who is majoring in civil engineering at Penn State University. His parents are Don and Pam Carroll.
Nicole Chadwick of Amity, who is studying to be a veterinary technician at the Vet Tech Institute. Her parents are Paul and Carol Chadwick.
Jessica Cole of Bentleyville, who is majoring in second education/social studies at California University of Pennsylvania. Her parents are Joseph and Kay Cole.
Elizabeth Doman of Roscoe, who is majoring in human biology at Chatham University. Her parents are Earl and Teresa Doman.
Kara Dunmire of Monongahela, who is majoring in food science at Penn State University. Her parents are Jeff and Ann Dunmire.
Jacob Dzurino of Washington, who is majoring in marketing at the University of Alabama. His parents are Gary and Dawn Dzurino.
Carolena Gasbarro of Hickory, who is majoring in elementary education with a minor in special education at Bethany College. Her parents are Frank and Madeline Gasbarro.
Leeanna Gotto of Donora, who is majoring in business at Community College of Allegheny College. Her parents are Donald and Patty Gotto.
Emily Grove of Monongahela, who is majoring in agribusiness and rural development at West Virginia University. Her parents are Donald and Amy Grove.

Breanna Lincoski of Daisytown, who is majoring in pre-vet biology and secondary education at California University of Pennsylvania. Her parents are Ron and Jan Lincoski.
Colleen Maltony of Burgettstown, who is majoring in nursing at LaRoche College. Her parents are Robert and Judith Maltony.
Hunter Pallini of Coal Center, who is majoring in psychology at California University of Pennsylvania. Her parents are James and Suzanne Pallini.
