Bee Graphix repeats as Grebb champs

BeeGraphix won a second consecutive J. Budd Grebb Memorial Summer Basketball League title with a 69-52 victory over Farmers Insurance at the Mechanic Street Playground in California Thursday night.

Elijah Minnie finished with 19 points, 28 rebounds, four blocks and three assists. Dayshore Majors led all scorers with 21 points.

Farmers Insurance (7-5) made it a five-point game with 5:35 remaining but couldn’t close the gap.

BeeGraphix finished the summer at 10-2.

Noah Brown scored 20 points for Farmers Insurance, 13 coming in the first half. He also pulled down six rebounds.

Farmers Insurance missed at least eight open layups, head coach Naz Victoria said.

Lavelle Rush had eight points and nine rebounds for Farmers Insruance. Matt Bernandowski contributed nine points and eight rebounds.

Darrell Briggs Jr. scored all seven of his points in the second half for BeeGraphix. Noah Rullo had six of his nine points in the second half.
