Ronald L. Fonte
Ronald L. Fonte, 75, of McMurray, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.
Born on March 25, 1947, he was the son of Pat Heckathorn and adopted by George “Huck” and Mary Fonte.
He was the loving husband of Judy Herder Fonte; stepfather of Bill (Stacy) Herder and Aimee (Erich) Nordmann; grandfather of Michael and Beth Herder and Anna Nordmann; brother of Nancy Walker, Debbie Kelly, Ron Heckathorn and the late Bernard Heckathorn Jr., and Lee Fonte and Howard Fonte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ron served as an Army helicopter mechanic in the Vietnam War.
He loved animals and his furbabies, Prince, Caesar and Crystal are missing him.
Ron’s big passion was his music. He was a drummer, base and rhythm guitar player, and was the lead singer in his band, which had many names, including “Ronnie Walker Country”.
In addition, Ron loved converting Flxible and Eagle busses into beautiful RV coaches, and had an article published on bus restoration.
A service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
