G. David Hay
G. David Hay, PhD, 78, of Peters Township, originally of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023.
Dave was the beloved husband of 55 years to Judy Hay; devoted dad of Tom (Kathy) Hay; caring Poppy of Shaun and Abby Hay; dear brother of Kent (Kathy) Hay of Colorado, and Wayne Hay of New York; uncle of Jeff and Jason Hay; brother-in-law of Bob Otto and the late Jim (Jane, surviving) Otto. Dave is also survived by many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jean Hay.
Dave met Judy when they were both students at Ohio State University. He was a proud alum and always enjoyed returning to OSU, especially for various Sigma Phi Epsilon events.
After earning his doctorate, Dave went on to enjoy a fulfilling career spanning over for 38 years as director of the Bettis Reactor Engineering School.
Dave was very involved in the Peters Township Community serving as president of the youth baseball association, president of the high school swim club, as well as on the board of Parks and Recreation. He also enjoyed being active in the Trinity United Methodist’s Men’s Group and Financial Committee.

Friends and family will be welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, in Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Center Church Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
