Richard “Dick” Bell, 86, of Houston, died on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

He was born on March 23, 1937, in Canonsburg, a son of Norman and Helen Martin Bell.

The loving father of Pamela (the late Jimmy) Dodd, Sandy (Jay) Snyder, Donna (Donny) Dodd and Tracy (John) Gudac.

Cherished grandfather of Justin Dodd, Melissa (Russ Geary) Dodd, A.J. (Rachel Phillips) Snyder, Brittany (Jesse) Pesanka, Ryan (Amanda Patrick) Dodd, Kelsey (Brandon Nicotra) Dodd and Calista Gudac.

Beloved great-grandfather of Levi and Tristan Snyder, Maddox and Madison Pesanka and Hudson Nicotra.

Brother of Norman (Virginia) Bell and his sister, Romaine Murdy.

Also survived by the mother of his children, Anita Bell.

He graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1955.

Dick retired as a Corrections Officer from Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Myers, Florida with 10 years of service in 1996. He was also employed as a Canonsburg Police Officer in the late 1960’s. In the 1970’s, he was employed as the Captain of the North Strabane Police Department. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A gathering of family and friends is set to be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m., immediately following the gathering at the funeral home.
