Elizabeth J. Toth
Elizabeth J. “Betty” Toth, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Country Meadows Retirement Community, Bridgeville. She was born December 22, 1937, in Strabane, a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Mrukot Toth.
Betty lived most of her life in Canonsburg, where she graduated in the Class of 1955 of Canonsburg High School.
Betty had been a member of the former St. Genevie Roman Catholic Church, where she loved seeing Bobby Vinton, and Immaculate Conception Church in Washington.
Over the years Betty had been employed at Mayview State Hospital, Architectural Medals and Sarris Candies. Prior to her retirement Betty had been employed with Thepitt Manufacturing in the accounts payable department.
She so loved being with her beloved nieces and nephews, going to the casino and the Springhouse for dinner. Betty enjoyed movies and oldies music, especially rock-‘n’-roll. She loved all animals and liked to travel, going to beaches and swimming. Betty had the pleasure of meeting Bobby Darin, Vic Damone and John Wayne in person.
She was the last of her immediate family. Left behind to cherish her memory are her nieces, Lisa Barney, Susan Toth and Dawn Berkebile; and her nephew, Christopher Toth; many great-nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her sister, Lucille Toth; and her brother, William Toth.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment and Catholic graveside committal services will be private for the family Saturday, April 22, in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
