Paul D. Miller
Paul D. Miller, 76, of Washington, died Friday, May 12, 2023, in the Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 6, 1946, in Washington, the son of the late A. B. “Farmer” and Pearl O. Riggans Miller.
Paul was a 1964 graduate of Trinity High School and went on to serve as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
After his time in the service, he was employed as a truck driver for many companies over the years, including Helms, Blue Diamond, and New Penn Trucking.
He enjoyed spending time at the casino, golfing and vacationing. He was especially fond of spending time with his family on the family farm, where his years of experience as a farmer were a tremendous legacy to his children and grandchildren. He also loved working on the farm tractor.
On March 11, 1967, in Kenmore, Ohio, he married Joyce Shelley. Mrs. Miller survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Miller of Washington; four grandchildren, Harley D. Miller, Haley Rae Miller, Makayla (Michael) Miller Ankrom and John Michael Miller; two great-grandchildren, Mila Ankrom and Cash D. Miller; his former son-in-law, John D. Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Michael D. Miller; and two sisters, Sharon Fender and Phyllis Mounts.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. All other services will be private.
