Albert Orville Barney, 94, of Washington, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in his home.

He was born February 26, 1929, in Washington, a son of the late J. Orville and Nettie Morrison Barney.

Albert was a carpenter by trade. He owned and operated A. Barney Circular Stairs, which was said to build some of the most beautiful circular stairs around.

In his free time, he enjoyed square dancing, hunting and fishing, especially at his camp in Huntingdon.

Surviving are three sons, Karl (Teresa) Barney of Washington, Blair Barney of Eighty-Four, and Drew (Darla) Barney of Bentleyville; two brothers, Raymond Barney of Charleroi, and Kenneth Barney of Eighty-Four; a sister, Janet Collar of Charleroi; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a daughter, Annetta Ghrist; a brother, Donard Barney; and a sister, Wanda Smith.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, Douglas M. Jones, supervisor, Dr. Lawrence K. Donovan, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27. Interment will be private.
