He was born May 23, 1936, a son of the late J. Floyd Simpson and Mildred W. Simpson.

Mr. Simpson grew up in Hills Station along with his seven siblings and enjoyed many adventures there. He graduated from Cecil High School in 1955, Penn State in 1961 and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1971.

On August 22, 1965, he married Martha Getz. They celebrated 57 years of dedication and love on their anniversary last year.

He was a life-long active member of Fawcett United Methodist Church and was honored to serve in many positions from custodian, Sunday school teacher, to lay leader. He loved the Lord and his church “family”.

Mr. Simpson had many interests. He was an avid gardener who grew many vegetables and shared his harvest with family, friends and those lucky enough to have stopped at his vegetable stand. He enjoyed sketching nature, especially on the vacations he took. He deeply loved his family and the many picnics and parties he shared with them. His humor brightened the lives of those close to him.
