1940-2013

Terrance A. McClain Sr., 73, of Burgettstown, passed away Tuesday evening, August 6, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 28, 1940, in Burgettstown, a son of the late John and Maude Ellington McClain.

Mr. McClain served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Okinawa. He was honorably discharged in 1963 and was a recipient of the Navy Expeditionary Medal.

He worked as a millwright for Universal Cement in Universal and enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Vikki Harmon McClain, whom he married June 23, 1984; three sons, Terrance A. McClain Jr. of Freeport, Curtis W. McClain (Cindy) of New Kensington and Donald E. McClain (Martha Heberling) of Avella; two daughters, Virginia L. Crabtree (John) of New Kensington and Cristy Bearden (Rob Kubacka) of Burgettstown; a sister, Madge Staley of Washington; former wife Betty Molina (John) of New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Ronald and Martin McClain.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 9, with the Rev. Dan Ekas officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by Slovan and Burgettstown Veterans of Foreign Wars/American Legion Honor Guard will follow in Bethel Ridge Cemetery, Eldersville.
